Events Categorization
For maximal convenience, we’ve enabled two opportunities for event tagging into Flash CalendarPro: category and location.
Depending on how you use CalendarPro, categories can serve different purposes – mark events by type (business meetings, personal events, phone calls, etc), or help differentiate corporate events for intranet usage (public presentations, corporate meetings, department events). If you use the calendar for publishing company offerings, categories may be used to mark events by service or subject (English lesson, Math session, training on human rights and so on).

Color Coding
As you can see, Category legend is color coded to help users identify events from a specific category and provide explanation to the color coding.
Legend and Filtering
User interface is supplied with the legend to allow filtering events by categories or appointments. This feature improves navigation when the number of events is too big, and a user needs to see only certain categories or events in a certain place.
Search
You can also use categories or locations to tag events, and then help people search by tag. Some users would like to use search function, if they notice many events and are unable to find what they need immediately. In fact, some studies show that more than 45% users use search if they are unable to visually locate some text, page or link on the website during first 30 seconds. Users may first search for "Event name or category" (e.g. "music"). Afterwards, they can narrow the search to "City or Town" (e.g. "New York, NY") or "When" (e.g., "today"). This is particularly useful when looking for movie times, theater performances and music events.

Event Category and Location Visibility
The Calendar can serve different purposes and be seamlessly integrated into different types of web applications or intranet systems. This is why CalendarPro user graphic interface is also customizable. We thought it would be useful if someone needed to remove the legend with locations, or categories from the left panel, or both of them. Refer to the manual for more details
Timezones for Locations
Location or 'place' can be essentially everything – from world region, or country, to some city or street address. In the administrative mode users can type in their custom address when editing event details, or select from the existing (previously entered places) ones.
On the top of that, an administrator may specify the timezone for the location, that will be linked to events after all. List of all timezones is already embedded into the calendar application, and you only need to specify the timezone ID for the pre-defined location.
